In the Defender XT-P, the 82-hp Rotax HD10 V-Twin is still specifically tuned for serious work, but gains more responsive tuning for active, sport-oriented riding. The Defender can do that sort of riding, too, but how? Industry leading 69 lb-ft torque.
- New 7.6-inch digital gauge
This year, everything important is right before your eyes on an all-new 7.6-inch illuminated digital dash. The larger digital dashboard houses gauges and all essential functions in a clear, easy-to-read display. This also means a new keypad to ease mode selecting.

Delivering the responsive, thrilling feel of an enthusiast-oriented machine is a Can-Am thing. It's been in our DNA from the beginning, in fact, which is why the XT-P has been re-tuned to return even higher levels of enjoyment when out on the trail.
- Heavy-duty suspension
The spec sheet is one thing: reality is another. The redesigned Arched Double A-Arm front suspension and Arched TTA rear suspension give a full 11-in of travel, better stability, a surefooted response, and improved strength.

The Defender has a total of up to 16.2 US gal (61.3 L)—including a handy, removable and water-resistant 1.7 gal (6.3 L) toolbox, an industry exclusive—to carry tools and supplies directly where they're needed. In addition, we include 6 gal (22.8 L) of under-dash storage with an enclosed pocket, under-seat storage, and enclosed storage above the gauges.
- Front bumper
The XT-P's heavy duty front bumper demands attention and respect wherever it goes. For added durability, this upgrade gives Defender owners even less reason to fear the unknown.
